Break the silence! 2023

During this sensitive project in Uganda we want to use culture: film and theatre, to open up for public discussions the sensitive and taboo subject of violence and harassment against women and find means to spread women's experiences "behind the scenes", despite harsh censorship and poor internet access. We want to carry out some discussion meetings with local issues as well as a series of workshops in film and theatre techniques for women influencers, thereby changing and giving higher priority to societal debate issues of gender equality, sexual assault and legal security. We want to give a voice to women in the media, teachers, students and activists within the SCO. Partner organisations: Muwada and High Sound for Children, also cooperating tight with Media Challenge Initiative, a modern hub of media production run by and for young people in Kampala, where we had a number of meetings and workshops. Let’s make it together! 2022

Young people often get disconnected from the knowledge and skills of basic and vital processes like cooking, gardening or fixing simple things at home. Most of them don't even consider it as a problem because they are used either to services that annihilate the problem, or a possibility to simply replace the object with a new one. When people don't know the basic process they become very dependent on these extern services and resources and in case they can’t keep up with their demands and can’t pay for all their wishes they get helpless and anxious. Target group of the project: Young people aged 18 to 28 including young people with fewer opportunities Venue: Hästveda, Sweden Duration: 19/7-1/8 2022 Partner Countries: Sweden, Serbia, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Turkey Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/SC2Cx5tZRNRZJTFD9

See The Girl Film Festival 2023

We want to establish a film festival as a sustainable forum for raising awareness of youth workers and pedagogs in Ethiopia about gender inequality in access to education, decision making and expression of needs by young girls. We want to teach and promote skills of filmmaking as opinion work and encourage youth workers by cooperation with kids, to call attention of local decision makers and publics both inside of the country and outside, to the obstacles that limits girls in education, active participation in local development, access to public services and personal growth. The project is based on the massive learnings of the seed project See the Girl that we conducted previously in Ethiopia, where the idea of a film festival emerged naturally in discussions with teachers and activists. The project gathered over 200 participants in 15 activities, 18 short films were produced. Partners for the project were DANFE and EBDTA, Ethiopia. YOUTH WORKERS MOBILITY – TRAINING COURSE 23.8 – 29. 8. 2021 Domžale (Dob), Slovenia Project aimed to support youth workers work with different youngsters with different needs and backgrounds, including young people with autism and sensory issues. The rise of the diagnosis of autism indicate that there is a possibility that youth workers will meet in their work youngsters with autism, even if they haven’t met them yet. Therefore, it is important for youth workers and others who work directly with young people, to acquire knowledge an competences in the field of autism and sensory issues, for more successful involvement of young people in the social and civil life or simply in the activity that is being performed. The project aimed to build on last year’s project, Supporting youngsters with autism in youth work, where we learned the basics of autism and methods of working with young people, this time we are focusing on sensory issues. Talk2Talk 2018

This project included 40 youths, 10 youth leaders and 2 accompanying persons coming from five different countries, Sweden, Czech Republic, Turkey, Lithuania and Croatia. These youths participated in youth exchange as the activities were a build-up and complementary to each other. With the present challenges in Europe with the immigration crisis, intolerance and racial discrimination in Europe has drastically increased. The exchange aims to identify the common causes of intolerance and analyse persisting cases of non-tolerance on the basis of culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation and race against various minorities, formulate good practices in order to reduce it, as well as strategies, which could help increase tolerance toward minorities in the participant countries and beyond. The specific objectives of this project were: - To increase awareness among young people from a minority background (cultural, ethnic, etc.) on European citizenship; - To empower youth to take an active role in local communities; - To bring together young people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds; - To create space for dialogue; - To foster their feeling of sharing common values; - To raise their sense of belonging to Europe. Tolerance nowadays has become a major factor in life and we want to equip ourselves and fellow youths with the knowledge and skills to use to as to live in harmony and raise awareness on various topics related to human rights, democracy, social inclusion, faiths, and culture. The methodology used during the project included workshops, debates, hands on activities, case studies, simulations, visits to NGOs and outreach projects. Videolink 2021

Volunteering Pays Off 2021

Many young people nowadays are not happy with what they have studied or what are they working. There are many reasons for that, some of them are that they don't see the impact of their work to other people's lives. On the other way in many European countries the teenagers and those in their twenties who are fresh out of education do not find jobs right away, especially if the country’s economy is experiencing difficulties. Volunteering is an active expression of civic participation which strengthens common European values such as solidarity and social cohesion. Volunteering also provides important learning opportunities, because involvement in voluntary activities can provide people with new skills and competences that can improve their employability. The main aim of the project “Volunteering Pays Off” is to increase the employability of young people from our partner organizations and our communities through tailored Eco and sustainable volunteering programmes.
