Volunteering Pays Off

We did survived corona year 2020 and celebrated with a first post-corona training in a beautiful surrounding in North Macedonia. It got intense, warm and unexpectedly strong bonding…

Many young people nowadays are not happy with what they have studied or what are they working. There are many reasons for that, some of them are that they don’t see the impact of their work to other people’s lives. On the other way in many European countries the teenagers and those in their twenties who are fresh out of education do not find jobs right away, especially if the country’s economy is experiencing difficulties, so that countries in the end instead of using the young people’s energy and competencies it is just loosing them mainly as economic migrants.

Volunteering is an active expression of civic participation which strengthens common European values such as solidarity and social cohesion. Volunteering also provides important learning opportunities, because involvement in voluntary activities can provide people with new skills and competences that can improve their employability. This is especially important at this time of economic crisis in many places, youth mobility and global learning process. Volunteering plays an important role in supporting and promoting many sectors, but mostly it teaches young people about positive values and moral standards which make them responsible human beings.
